Coin Sash Resources

Besides looking just downright pretty (not to mention the jingling sounds it makes! :) I consider a coin belt to be a piece of exercise equipment as vital to this class as a Pilates mat or dumbells are to other exercise classes. The jingling noises are an indicator if you're performing the body isolations correctly (or not). Let's say you're doing "snake arms", which require the torso and hips to be still while only your arms are moving. If you jingle, you're moving your hips and know you need to be more mindful of how your arm is moving! And if you jingle during hip moves, the more "ooomph" you put into the move, the louder you jingle. It very much adds to the "fun factor" of this class.

Places to get coin belts:

Miss Bellydance (Inman Park area. Please tell them I recommended then!)

Atlanta Bellydance -- (Nazeem Allyl's Belly Dance Studio)

Dance 101 (just down N Druid Hills in Loehmann's Plaza; sells them in their dance boutique)

Amazon (type "Hip Scarf" in the search)

Let me know if you find another great place that sells them -- I'd love to know and add to this list!
